Amarillo Police: 500+ Child Pornography Images Seized

There are a lot of different crimes we hear about in Amarillo, and many times we either just scoff at it or shrug our shoulders at it. Unfortunately, there is one thing that's on the rise in Amarillo that we aren't doing either of those with.

It seems we've seen a pretty rapid rise of people being charged with indecency with a child under the age of 18, or just child pornography in general. Now, we can add another one to the list, and it seems like this one may have been going on for a while.

An Estrangement...And A Discovery

Robbie Coronado was recently estranged from his wife, which I'm sure has been a tough ordeal for both. However, his estranged wife may not be feeling so bad about things after what she allegedly found at their home.

Back on June 18, she had gone to the house to gather some of her belongings when she stumbled upon some SD cards and USB drives. She wanted to know what was on them, so she brought them to her sister. What they unveiled was staggering and disturbing.

500+ Sexual Images Of Children Found

On those cards and drives, they uncovered numerous images and videos of child abuse material, AKA, sexual imagery of children. They promptly called the police to alert them of what they had found.

A search warrant was executed on the same day, and police found more USB drives, SD cards, and even cell phones with the images and videos on them. They found more than 100 images on Coronado's personal cell phone as well.

He was arrested on Wednesday, September 10, at 4:10 am, charged with possession of child pornography greater than 500 visual depictions.
