For the better of five weeks, the majority of Texans have been cooped up indoors with little social activity among friends. With the nice spring weather gracing the Texas Panhandle with green grass and the scent of blooming wildflowers people are itching to break the confines of four walls. This group of four friends found the empty Westgate Mall parking lot outside Dillard’s the perfect spot to social distance tailgate style. Meet Krista, Bonita, Suzy, and Lynne.

Four Scrapbooking friends met today for a quick lunch break in the mall parking lot. They brought lawn chairs, drinks, and snacks and followed social distancing guidelines. Enjoying the beautiful Amarillo sunshine together, just for a chance to catch up. Like things were normal. This is the first time they have seen each other in over five weeks. They told me the hardest part of the COVID-19 pandemic was being separated from friends and family.

These four friends are the spirit of Texas and are a welcome sight to see when the whole world seems to be shut down.

Thank you- Krista, Bonita, Suzy, and Lynne.
