An Amarillo mother is reaching out to the community and beyond in an effort to save her son's life.  17 year old Justin is a great kid, who is in need of bariatric surgery.  His mother, Julie, has created a web page for all to read his story, and hopefully, make a contribution.

Justin was an average sized baby, but started gaining weight at a young age.  He was featured on the Maury Povich show when he was almost 3 years old, for an episode about overweight children.

Justin's weight is causing issues, and his mother fears his weight is a hurdle in between now and Justin's future.

"I am asking for help for my 17 year old son. Justin is 17,he takes all honor classes in school with dual credit college classes and maintains A's. Justin is also a singer who will be going to state this year in May to compete in solo for UIL, Justin  has never let the his weight stop him from achieving his dreams. Justin was an average size baby when he was born,he started to get larger around 2 years old. When Justin was almost 3 we were on a episode of Maury Povich about overweight children. His father and i divorced when Justin was 3 and we moved to Amarillo, TX where I have raised both kids alone for 14 years. Justin's dad's side of the family is larger people and I also have bigger people in my family.Justin has no medical issues other than sleep-apnea which we are blessed he is healthy for his size.My insurance will not cover any bariatric surgery but unfortunately surgery is the only thing that will help Justin so he can achieve his dreams of going to college and becoming a singer."

Every child should have the opportunity to chase their dreams!  Justin dreams of becoming a singer, and he has the potential, as you can see in the video below...

"I will post a video of Justin singing soon not very good at this kinda stuff. I do not have any family that can or will help us so I am here praying for help. God bless you all. UPDATE; Called panhandle weight loss center the surgery will cost $13,995 am getting a appointment for a consultation. My goal is to make a web page or set up a facebook page so people can follow our progress towards the surgery his weight loss journey and his college career. I want to make sure everyone can keep up with justins progress hopefully be able to help other kids who suffer from obesity. Looking into having a benefit concert to raise money will keep you updated. God Bless!"

I'm sharing this in hopes to help Julie raise the money for her son's surgery.  We've helped the family out before.  Back in 2009, they were a recipient in the annual KISSmas Wish List, and we were able to get the family a minivan, because they had no transportation.

Truthfully, if we had the money, we would give it all and make this a done deal.  However, we don't, but we have friends like yourself that we know truly care and will help!

Please, share this with all your friends, share it and share it again!  Spread this thing near and far!  We CAN help Justin see his dream come true!
