Amarillo Police Need Your Help With Monday’s Shooting
It's been a few days since the events of Labor Day that have many of us on edge here in the Yellow City. Not much has really come up as far as leads go but it turns out APD might be able get a better idea of who they're looking for and you can perhaps be the person who helps solve a mystery
Yeah. It's a very Robert Stack Unsolved Mysteries kinda quote but there's a lot more to it and you really can make all the difference here. Amarillo Police came out earlier today and announced the name of one of the victims from Monday. 62 year old Laura Etta Ashley was leaving the Church's Chicken at 200 East Amarillo Boulevard and ultimately made her way to the 600 block of East 15th when she was shot and killed. While there were no witnesses there is a very good description of the car she was driving which was a green 2017 Dodge Journey similar to the vehicle below.
So why all the focus on the car?
The vehicle itself definitely made its way along the streets of Amarillo before the incident happened and if you happen to have security cameras along the route she took which includes Amarillo Boulevard and Hughes to Polk, Amarillo Police want you to take a look at the footage from Monday night (Sept 6th) from 8:38 to 9:21. They believe that someone's cameras may have caught the vehicle that pulled up alongside her which could give them more ammo as they search for the person responsible for Ashley's death.
The 62 year old Grandmother was a bus driver who did what she could to help those in the community. Maybe your footage can help track down the person who did this and bring a close to the case and perhaps stop the suspect before something happens again.
