Amarillo Professional Fire Fighters Local 542 Hope To Prevent Missing Children
The Amarillo chapter of Professional Fire Fighters has teamed up with the National Child Identification Program.
Over 800,000 children go missing every year in America, which adds up to about 1 child every 40 seconds. The National Child Identification Program is hoping to implement a system to provide IDs to all kindergarten, 1st, and 2nd grade children.
The Amarillo Professional Fire Fighters Local 542 has participated in different campaigns to raise money for the program. This year, they did a raffle for Super Bowl tickets in a partnership with the American Football Coaches Association.
There are currently five missing children from Amarillo and one missing child from Canyon on the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children website.
