Suspects In Amarillo Walgreens Robbery Arrested
Last week in Amarillo, we had a pretty exciting moment happen, even for a radio station.
Amarillo Police showed up at our door asking us if we had surveillance camera around the building. We told them we do, and they said they needed to grab some footage from something earlier in the morning.

We obliged, and the media team went to work. They explained someone had robbed the Walgreens pharmacy at 34th and Bell earlier that morning and they believed they drove through our parking lot in their getaway.
Well, whether or not our video helped, the suspect has been caught.
Javonn Terrel Lewis, a 29 year old who is from Indiana was arrested in conjunction with the crime. He handed the clerk a note that said "This is a robbery and I have a gun".
He then gained access to the pharmacy and took eight bottles of pills that were located in a secure safe there in the pharmacy.

Prior to the robbery, police saw on surveillance videos a man enter the CEFCO on I-40 & Bell prior to the Walgreens robbery. He was later identified as Curtis Anthony Nelson.
Nelson was the owner of the car that had Ohio license plates. The plate number was entered into multi state license plate reader database and that was how they tracked the suspects down.
When questioned, Nelson told police he wasn't in the state of Texas earlier in the day, while Terrel mentioned they were sightseeing.
