Suzanne Al-Dosari can be found at a nice lounge downtown on Polk St. called Bodegas. Bodegas offers a great lounge environment for drinking which is only exceeded by the staff! From the bartenders to the waitresses, security to the bar backs, they are the most polite bar staff you will ever meet! It made this hard as everyone there is so nice and on their toes at all times. What separates Suzanne from the crowd is her overwhelming politeness. Her constant struggle to keep a smile on her face, even when a customer is in her face complaining. At work, I've never seen her break her format. She's so consistent, always staying positive and always smiling. Even if she knows for a fact the customer is wrong, she always gives the benefit of the doubt and treats them as if she were in the wrong. Being a bartender isn't just about making drinks. It's about knowing your customers, treating them like equals, going above and beyond for them, going out of your way for them and always staying positive! Visit Suzanne at Bodegas and you'll see the smile I speak of in this blog, and at first glance, it will blow you away! Then you'll be hypnotized by her beauty and personality and you'll want to stay there being served by her and nobody else! Suzanne Al-Dosari takes the top spot on the countdown for her abilities to always be in a good mood, always smile, always serve her customers as if she was serving royalty and always being able to make your drink perfect! It's been said by many that she makes the best Long Island Ice Tea in the city! I've tried it, and I could taste the difference! You will too! She is the HOTTEST bartender in the city hands down! I guess that's why I married her haha!

If you've been to Butlers Martini Bar downtown on Polk St. you've no doubt seen this guy in action. Cody Lewis is in my opinion the most skilled bartender in the city. He knows everything about every drink and if he doesn't, give him just a minute and he'll find out! His delivery is flashy, fast, yet smooth all at the same time. When it comes to detail, let's just say he dots ever I and crosses every T. He doesn't miss a single step. He believes in keeping a clean bar which really scores points in my book! Nothing like seeing an ashtray full of cigarette butts at the bar. That is so nasty! You wont find that if Cody is working! You'll find a clean bar, where it doesn't smell like mildew and alcohol. And when I say his delivery is flashy, well that's something you've just got to see for yourself. It's pretty awesome to watch him at work, doing all the fancy bartender tricks while serving up his customers. And it's not overbearing either. Some bartenders that do the tricks are CONSTANTLY doing them. It can get rather annoying. Cody has found a good balance for doing tricks. He's a great bartender and an even better guy! Cody Lewis takes my number 2 spot because he is the most knowledgeable bartender in the city and he's an overall performer and just good people all together.

Nikkie Lofton might as well live at Bodegas Lounge. She isn't just a bartender, she is the head bartender. Nikkie has a lot of pressure on her from the customers, her staff and her boss all at the same time. Even with all this pressure she finds time to be a family woman and an awesome bartender! This is why Nikkie takes my number 3 spot on the countdown. I really do admire her attitude and her abilities as a bar manager/tender and mom. Nikkie is fast and always has an eye open when she's standing behind the bar. I know that seems like something every bartender should be doing, but it's not. Some bartenders act like your an inconvenience to their night, like your somehow interrupting them. Your never going to get this feeling when you visit Nikkie! She's a very sweet and very cute girl! She pays attention to detail and will work to get you what you've ordered as fast as possible. She is the shot queen! Ever had a lemon drop Tuaca? Well you haven't had a good one yet! Go see Nikkie and taste the difference for yourself!

I've known Neal Tufford for a long time and so have the patrons of downtown Amarillo. Neal is a downtown bartending veteran! Find this guy at OHMS, a quaint little place with a good atmosphere for couples. Behind the bar, he knows his stuff, especially when it comes to mixing drinks. He seems to have the ability to do it with zero effort, it's like second nature to him, just like breathing. He's a genuine dude and he's a genius for a lack of better words. The guy is smart! He's what you would call an educated bartender. He adapts the natural brilliance he has to the job he's doing behind the bar. I've never seen this guy let anybody down at work. Every customer is satisfied and his bosses adore him. I'm making Neal Tufford number 4 on my countdown because you could go to OHMS tonight and make a new friend in him! He's a nice guy that is super smart and really good at what he does! Stop at the bar and stir up a conversation with him and you'll know why!

You see that big cheeseburger eating grin on Dru Reyes' face? Well you can see that same grin anytime you go to Pink Sports Bar & Lounge downtown at the corner of 9th & Taylor. Dru is one of the most down to earth bartenders I have ever met! He's not the most experienced in the city, but he's jumped in both feet first in his career as a bartender and really impressed me! Dru is constantly performing when he's behind the bar. Throwing bottles in the air, catching them, filling glasses with the most style and class I've ever seen. I don't know what his specialty drink is but I do know I've never had a bad drink made by him. It's satisfaction time after time! He's a ladies man and a man's man. He's the bartender that lets you have your cake, and eat it too. Dru is taking number 5 on the countdown for being the realist bartender in the city. There's nothing fake about this guy behind or in front of the bar. Dru say's "people make my job fun, and they keep me coming back day after day no matter what!" And that's the attitude that keeps me going back to Dru all the time!

Even though I've never pronounced Sugey Hernandez's name correctly she's never held it against me. I like that about her! She works at Mulligan's Sports Pub on the corner of 26th & Paramount. She's really sweet and cute as a button! Wait, did I just say "cute as a button?" Oh well, I stand by it. Sugey is super nice to her customers at Mulligan's and it keeps regulars coming back everyday just to see her face and have a quick conversation with her. She's not above cleaning or doing waitress duties either and that really sticks out! Running buckets of beer, serving up shots, mixing drinks, she's a pro at all of it! Her "go getter" attitude and the fact she actually meets the "hottest" criteria put's her at number 6 spot on the countdown.
