Ariana Grande Defends Manager Scooter Braun Amid Justin Bieber Engagement Reports
Unwarranted attacks on Scooter Braun? Ariana Grande will have none of it.
In the moments after Justin Bieber and Hailey Baldwin's alleged engagement report Sunday (July 8), the "Light Is Coming" singer was faced with Twitter conspiracy theorists (aka, run-of-the-mill trolls) speculating Braun, Grande's manager — who also manages the 23-year-old Canadian pop star — has been operating relatively quick engagements for his celebrity clients.
After a mere few weeks of dating, it was reported on June 11 that Grande and SNL comedian had secretly gotten engaged. Davidson later confirmed his "lit" engagement to the pop star weeks later on The Tonight Show.
The chanteuse wasted no time dispersing the rumors in a string of now-deleted tweets refuting any inkling of an orchestrated engagement between her and fiancé.
".... you do realize we are human beings who love and have lives ...... right .... ? and that scooter is a wonderful human being too who cares first n foremost ab our health and happiness ?" Grande replied to her fans to set the record straight, adding, "love is lit. s--t happens. i hope to god it happens to you too. u deserve it."
"Also scooters on vacation w his beautiful family leave him alone," Grande proceeded, further instructing her fans to, quite literally, leave Braun out of it.
"Okay okay 🙈 be nice to that man. he’s wonderful. and very human. always puts his artists’ health and happiness first."
The whispers of Braun's behind-the-scenes involvement with Grande and Bieber's love lives seemed to spark in light of the "Cold Water" star's engagement announcement to the American model.
Some Twitter users likened Braun to Kardashian momager Kris Jenner, joking his greatest expertise — outside having an ear for incredible voices — is in arranging celebrity marriages.
As it stands, Bieber and Baldwin, whose rekindled romance saw headlines last month, have not yet confirmed or denied whether they are, in fact, engaged.
