Ya boy Vin Diesel is back on that breaking news beat. What’s Leaving Netflix: November 2017
Alright, you know the drill: Just as the Netflix lords giveth, so too must they taketh away — which is to say that as dozens of new movies and TV shows hit the streaming service next month, several will be making their exit…possibly for good. November’s expiring titles include a handful of Wachowskis faves (including The Matrix trilogy), Twilight (sorry, YA lovers), Martin Scorsese’s Hugo, and all nine seasons of How I Met Your Mother.
New Netflix Instant Releases: November 2017

‘Star Wars: The Last Jedi’ Image Reveals New Look at Laura Dern (Plus Another BB Droid!)
The recent trailer for Star Wars: The Last Jedi gave us a pretty hefty preview of the latest chapter in the saga, but amid all that new footage, a few things were missing — chiefly Laura Dern, who plays the violet-haired Vice Admiral Amilyn Holdo (what a name!). We’ve seen Dern in costume before, but a new image circulating online gives us a fresh sneak peek at her exciting Star Wars character…and reveals another BB unit.
‘Bright’ Featurette Explains Will Smith’s Gritty Buddy Cop Fantasy, With Orcs and Elves
Hmm…How best to describe David Ayer’s Bright…Well, in the words of the filmmaker himself, this is “really the story of a friendship.” As co-star Noomi Rapace describes it, “It’s L.A. Right now. It just happens to be orcs and elves.” If you’re confused by that, you’re not alone. But this new featurette does its damnedest to lay it out for you: This is a story about racial tensions (but with orcs and elves), a classic buddy cop flick (but with orcs and elves), and a police thriller (you know, with orcs and elves).
Steven Soderbergh Shares His Lucasfilm Rejection Letter From 1984
In 1989, a 26-year-old Steven Soderbergh changed the landscape of indie cinema with his feature debut, Sex, Lies, and Videotape. That’s a pretty impressive accomplishment, and one he might not have achieved if Lucasfilm had hired him back in 1984. Instead, the iconic studio behind one of the world’s most popular franchises rejected Soderbergh, as evidenced by a letter recently unearthed by the multi-hyphenate.

After months of speculation, a change in directors, and reshoots, Ron Howard finally revealed the official title of the project — formerly operating under the working title “Red Cup” — on his Twitter account today in a special message to fans.
Ben Affleck Groping Incidents Resurface as Rose McGowan Claims He Knew About Weinstein’s Behavior

Not long after Ben Affleck issued his statement on Weinstein’s deplorable behavior, the actor was hit with allegations of his own.
What’s Expiring From Netflix: October 2017
By now you’ve probably heard that 30 Rock is leaving Netflix Instant, and if you’re anything like me, you are distraught. Inconsolable, even. The good news is that we still have Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt and Parks and Recreation, so there’s that, at least. Anyway, 30 Rock isn’t the only title expiring from Netflix in October, so let’s commence the mourning, shall we?
New Netflix Instant Releases: October 2017
Let’s just get this out of the way up front: Yes, the highly-anticipated second season of Stranger Things is coming to Netflix in October. If you’re a fan of the ’80s throwback sci-fi series, that’s probably the only new release you’re thinking about right now...
‘IT’ Trailer: And You Thought Clowns Were Scary Before
You know what they say: Everything is better with friends. That includes fighting an evil demonic clown who lives in town sewer system and has an affinity for Victorian era garb. Wardrobe preference notwithstanding, Pennywise is still pretty darn terrifying, especially if you’re already scared of clowns — in which case, you might want to avoid the new trailer for IT.
‘Spider-Man: Homecoming’ Director Jon Watts Will Return for the Sequel
And in other Spider-Man news…It looks like Sony and Marvel are just as pleased as the rest of us with Spider-Man: Homecoming. Following the box office success of the web-crawler’s latest reboot, the studios are reportedly sticking with director Jon Watts for the untitled sequel, slated to hit theaters in 2019. Thankfully, we won’t have to wait that long to see Tom Holland’s charming high school superhero back on the big screen, as the actor is set to reprise the spectacular role in Avengers: Infinity War.
