I remember the first time I watched the movie 'Sideways' and became very intrigued with wine, just like everyone else. I wasn't living in Amarillo at the time, but I definitely started looking for good wines after seeing it.

Austin had an absolutely great selection of places to go to find great wines, both domestic and imported. Amarillo has been a bit tougher to find them.

I noticed someone asked where they could find some good French or Italian wines, whether it be at a liquor store or a restaurant and people were pretty quick to respond. Here's a few of the top places that were mentioned.

CRUSH WINE BAR

This was the one restaurant that was brought up, and considering wine bar is in their title, they have plenty of different wines to choose from.

Taking a look at the wine menu online, you can find wines from Australia, Italy, Spain, and France, among other places. Not to mention, the prices are extremely competitive and won't break your wallet should you decide to indulge in a bottle.

M&R PACKAGE STORE

A complete liquor store in Amarillo, M&R has been known to have a very good selection of wine to choose from, and from all regions of the world no less. It's not limited to just domestic wines.

On top of that, they have a deal where you can purchase a wine bag for $3.99, slap six bottles inside there and save 10% on your total purchase. This comes in handy when you want to purchase those more expensive wines.

PINKIE'S

Another liquor store that has a pretty wide selection of wines to choose from, Pinkie's showed up a couple of times when it came to recommendations.

Taking a look at their website, they have quite a few different wines you can dig into, and the selection is definitely solid. Worth a look if you're a wine aficionado.

WORLD MARKET

Now here's a place I wouldn't have even thought about personally. Typically, World Market is known for housewares, décor, furniture, etc. Did you know they had a wine selection?

Apparently they do, and from what several people have said, it's one of the best when it comes to finding wine from around the world. Guess I'm going to be heading there to take a look.

UNITED/MARKET STREET

So this had to be one of the most polarizing options. Several people mentioned that they have a solid wine selection there, and honestly, they do. I find myself looking at it often.

However, a couple of people mentioned that unless it's the cheaper options, they've been sitting on the shelf a long time and "taste like vinegar" if you delve into the more expensive options. I haven't purchased anything other than a cheap wine there, so I can't speak from experience. I will say, though, that the selection is very solid, with a lot of options.
