One of the biggest questions regarding the upcoming school year is whether or not children will be required to wear face coverings while at school. Canyon ISD has laid out their plans for the year, and part of it states that all students will be required to wear face masks.

Also, Canyon ISD is breaking away from the trend set by other school districts who are going to be postponing their first day of school. Canyon ISD will be keeping their opening day as scheduled on August 19.

The Canyon ISD Return To School Plan For Parents is 32 pages long and goes into a lot of details on what to expect this year, as of now. Of course, and this is pointed out in the plan, things could change.

The plan lays out expectations for students, teachers, and parents for the upcoming school year. Everything from water fountain use, to field trips is covered.

Over the summer months there have been updates regarding expectations, especially when it comes to virtual learning.

It is still an option, but it is going to be a lot more work intensive than in the spring semester. That includes parents as well as students.

Hopefully it doesn't take long for us to settle in to some kind of routine this school year. It's going to be a big adjustment for everyone; teachers, students, and parents alike.

Be sure to keep up with announcements from your student's school. Hopefully when things start changing, it's for the better.
