We hear a lot about drugs moving in and out of Amarillo. Every day, there is some sort of story about it in the news.

However, there does seem to be one place that tends to get some of the best drug busts in the city. They happen pretty much once a quarter, but when they do, they're epic.

The Greyhound Bus Station In Amarillo

It's a place where many, and I should say the majority, of people who go there utilize to get from point A to point B. They travel across the country, visiting family and friends.

Then there are the select few who seem to think they're being rather inconspicuous with their travels. Sadly, they tend to get caught.

Another Drug Bust At The Amarillo Greyhound Bus Station

There have been some busts that have happened at the Greyhound station lately, but they all pale in comparison to what police found recently.

11 pounds of cocaine were uncovered as the bus rolled into the station in Amarillo, and police were able to arrest the person accused of transporting it.

How Were The Drugs And The Suspect Found

A police canine alerted officers to a suitcase during a free air sniff test. Police ended up searching the suitcase and uncovered just shy of 11 pounds of cocaine inside it.

Dedrick Jermaine Jones ended up grabbing that particular suitcase and made his way to the restroom. That is where he was arrested for possession with intent to distribute. Jones mentioned he purchased the drugs in Los Angeles.

His case will face a federal grand jury.
