Concerts In Amarillo? Yeah, Only If They Are With A Bigger Event.
Ok, I've had enough. I can't take it anymore. I'm about to snap.
Concerts...I need them in my life.
Ever since I moved to Amarillo, I've noticed that for the most part, concerts are a thing of the past. We've had a few here and there, but nothing that has overly excited me enough to want to attend or a different event got in my way of going.
So what does it take for the Yellow City to get an actual concert here?
Right, it has to be tied to a bigger event. You know, something I really don't have any interest in. However, I actually contemplate it because I just want a live concert with a halfway decent artist.
Now, I don't want to discount the acts that do roll through Amarillo. I mean, Russ just came to town and we're about to have Ginuwine, Dru Hill & Baby Bash in town. Let me tell you, I'm HYPED for that show, it's gonna be amazing.
The thing is...that show stands to be the biggest one to roll through Amarillo in 2021 from a star power standpoint.
I'm sorry, but I need more. Why don't artists want to come to Amarillo? Are we too small for them? Does Amarillo not buy concert tickets? I have a hard time believing it's the latter. I think we're starved for good concerts here. Maybe I'm wrong though.
So what will it take for us to show these artists we need bigger concerts, standalone concerts? I know ticket price can be a big thing when it comes to a show. So I come to you and ask how much would you be comfortable with paying to attend a concert with either a massive artist or a lineup full of solid names? Which one would you prefer?
Let me know, because I want to know what it's gonna take to get these concerts to happen!
