Another Amarillo Business Is Closing For Good. Who Now?
As we start to wind down on 2024, we reflect back on how tough of a year it was in Amarillo. We saw a lot of different restaurants and businesses shut their doors for good due to the economy.
Rising costs coupled with slow sales is a bad recipe for success. Local businesses struggled to weather the storm, and even some national businesses. However, there may not be a bigger surprise than the business that's getting ready to shut it's doors now.
WHO'S CLOSING NOW
This company has been in business for over 130 years. Extremely successful business model that allowed people the ability to rent to own different home appliances and electronics. I mean, those things aren't cheap and this was one of the places that allowed all of us to be able to get our hands on them.
Conn's HomePlus announced during the summer they were going into bankruptcy and that they'd be closing down SOME locations. There was no word as to which ones would shut their doors. Well, the news came this weekend and it shocked everyone.
They would be closing ALL their locations around the country and disappearing into the night.
WHAT KIND OF DEALS ARE GOING ON
If you ever wanted to get your hands on those big ticket items at crazy discounts, now is the time. All merchandise inside the store is going to be marked at 70-90% off, which means those items are going to go FAST.
For example, a $1000 fridge will only cost you between $100-300 to get. TV's? Let's say the average price is $600 on a big screen over 50". How would you feel landing one of those for somewhere between $60-180?
These are better than any Black Friday deal you're going to find, but at these deep discounts, items are going to go crazy fast.
WHERE AND WHEN IS THIS HAPPENING
Conn's in Amarillo is at 2510 S. Soncy right next to the Home Depot. It's pretty easy to see from the road and if you can't see it, just find the Home Depot sign.
These deals will NOT last long as according to the website, the discounts are valid until October 23, which is Wednesday. So hop in the car, make sure you've got a U-Haul trailer or something equivalent because you're going to need it.
