Dave Chappelle Releases ‘8:46,’ a Raw, Uncensored Performance Talking About the Death of George Floyd

While you were sleeping, Dave Chappelle took over the internet again.

Just after midnight on Friday, June 12th, Chappelle released an uncensored, unrestrained, over 25-minute long performance on YouTube with his perspective about race-relations and the death of George Floyd.

Ever since he returned from a self-imposed hiatus, Chappelle's comedy shows have been known for not being seen on the Internet since he bans ticket holders from bringing in cell phones. The performance, called "8:46," was recorded at his comedy show on June 6th, 2020.

Before Chappelle takes the stage, the special shows the social distancing of the outdoor seating, and that the ticket holders all had their temperatures taken at the door. A sign of the times.

Chappelle tells the audience right after he walks on stage, "This is weird, and less than ideal circumstances to do a show. But the only way to figure out if this s*** will actually work, is do the g**damn show."
