Diddy Wants to Buy a $20,000 The Notorious B.I.G. Painting
Diddy is looking to add a painting of The Notorious B.I.G. to his art collection. The Bad Boy Records boss is down in Miami for Art Basel 2016 and has become enamored with a painting of his late friend, according to TMZ.
The six-foot painting, which was created by street artist Zeem Rock, was on display at the Avant Gallery exhibit at Rockwell Miami. Diddy took a photo of himself next to the piece on Wednesday (Nov. 30), but TMZ's sources claim he wants to purchase it too.
The Biggie portrait is worth around $20,000. That's out of the price range for most folks, but is just a small dent in the bank account of someone like Diddy. Puff Daddy raked in an astounding $62 million this year, making him the highest-paid artist in hip-hop. Diddy's gains also made him one of the top 10 earners when counting all musicians.
Jay Z was the only rapper to come close to Diddy's earnings in 2016, making an estimated $53.5 million. Dr. Dre and Drake were also part of Forbes' annual list of highest-paid musicians, accounting for $41 million and $38.5 million, respectively.
Even with all the money Diddy is pulling in these days, he is still mindful of his reputation. The mogul was recently a guest on Drink Champs' and claimed he confronted Suge Knight after Death Row leader's infamous speech at the 1995 Source Awards. Diddy had some good laughs with N.O.R.E. and DJ EFN while recalling the alleged conversation, which made him sound like the alpha male.
