Interesting happenings here in Amarillo just days before the election is set to take place. One of the presidential candidates has filed a lawsuit in Amarillo federal court against CBS Broadcasting and “any and all affiliates and subsidiaries”.

Former President Donald Trump is accusing CBS of editing and misleading the public in regards to an interview done on the show "60 Minutes" with Vice President Kamala Harris.

In the lawsuit, Trump is claiming:

This action concerns CBS’s partisan and unlawful acts of election and voter interference through malicious, deceptive, and substantial news distortion calculated to (a) confuse, deceive, and mislead the public, and (b) attempt to tip the scales in favor of the Democratic Party…)

It seems the issue stems from a clip "Face The Nation" used from the same "60 Minutes" interview that aired. According to CBS, "60 Minutes" provided the interview to "Face The Nation" and they ended up using a longer section of an answer than what was used on "60 Minutes".

According to a statement put out by CBS, they stated:

Same question. Same answer. But a different portion of the response. When we edit any interview, whether a politician, an athlete, or movie star, we strive to be clear, accurate and on point. The portion of her answer on 60 Minutes was more succinct, which allows time for other subjects in a wide ranging 21-minute-long segment.

How this is all going to play out and what the final outcome of it will be is yet to be determined, but with it being so close to the election, and all the pundits saying it's going to be a hotly contested one, this could be just the beginning of some drama that will unfold from the election.
