Woman In Amarillo Arrested After Drunk Joyride On Train
Ok, there have been some wild and wacky things that have happened in Amarillo over the years, and now we can add another one to the list.
This is a story about things NOT to do after you've been out drinking with your friends, or without your friends, whatever your preference is.
THE START
It all started with a fun evening out for Alexandra Mitchell. She decided to head over to Bomb City Cabaret for a night of entertainment. While she was there, as most people there do, she indulged in plenty of adult beverages.
That part of the story isn't exactly earth-shattering or strange. Just a woman out and about having a good evening. However, what happened once she left the cabaret is where it takes a strange turn.
We've all been in that "too intoxicated" state where we have no idea what we're doing or saying. We just end up going with the flow of things. How she ended up in this position is still to be determined, and that's if she can even remember how she got there.
THE CALL
Around 4 am on Thursday morning, Mitchell called 911 and explained what was going on.
She was trapped inside a railroad car that was moving. How she ended up in the car is a complete mystery as of right now, but most of the time those trains are moving. If this one was, she had to run and hop inside the car. Pretty tough thing to do if you've been drinking.
It seems once she started to come out of the alcoholic haze, she recognized she wasn't in a good spot. The train had to be moving if she was trapped on it, and clearly it would seem she has no clue how she got there in the first place.
THE ACTION
Authorities contacted BNSF and had them halt all the trains until they were able to locate Mitchell. They were finally able to do that around 8400 SE 3rd. APD and Amarillo Fire were on scene once she was located, and fire officials were able to get her out of the car.
Paramedics on the scene checked out Mitchell to make sure she was ok and to treat any injuries.
THE AFTERMATH
This wouldn't end up being a joyride for Mitchell that she was going to get off from. Once any injuries were treated, APD ended up throwing the cuffs on Mitchell.
She was ultimately arrested for criminal trespass of railroad property. Mitchell could face some jail time and a likely fine for her stunt, and there's a good chance she won't be attempting that one again.
