Times certainly are changing and this is living proof right here!  Encyclopedia Britannica is turning the page on it's print edition and moving to a 100% digital platform.  We just have to face it, in this day in age, printed books are history, with devices like Kindle, iPads and tablets, the books aren't exactly "flying off the shelves" as much as they are being downloaded.

Just another example of how technology is spoiling our youth.  When I was doing book reports in school, you had to dig out all these encyclopedias and do some serious digging to find the information needed to finish the book report.  Now you can just type the subject of your book report into Google and it will pull a plethora of information for you.

LA Times Reports

Yes, it's sad that we're bidding farewell to 244 years of history, the blog says. That's how long the thick reference volumes have lined shelves around the globe, providing a "source of enlightenment" to all that rifled through them. But fear not, the blog says reassuringly: "...in a larger sense this is just another historical data point in the evolution of human knowledge."

So hold on to those old hardback copies of the encyclopedias that you have, because they will be considered antiques in a very short time!

With the transformation in technology, what are other things that should be all digital?

Magazines?  I bet they are next in line to make the switch to a 100% digital platform.

Newspapers will no doubt go digital soon, giving readers access through apps and websites.

But it wont stop there, in the future, most media will be delivered via the Internet.  Your computers will work in sync with your radios and televisions, as the world continues to adapt and evolve with technology.

At this point, we rely so much on the Internet, if something were to happen that crashed the Internet on a global scale, we would all be doomed.
