In Fort Collins, CO., I used to emcee the big St. Patrick's Day parade they had and it was an absolute blast...and one of the very few times it seemed acceptable to have a couple beers with a microphone in my hand.

This is my first St. Patrick's Day in Amarillo, so I started looking around for different events going on in and around Amarillo. Here's a few I found!

ST. PATRICK'S DAY TRIVIA NIGHT AT DON HARRINGTON

If you're looking for something that's on the family friendly side, this is your spot. Don Harrington Discovery Center will be hosting a trivia night on March 17th. They'll be providing food and drinks, while holding a big trivia contest.

There will be prizes given for the winning team (of course) and a good time to be had for all! There is a cover charge to get in, so be aware. $20 for adults, $10 for students. Go out, win some prizes and have some fun!

ST. PATRICK'S DAY CELEBRATION AT DRUNKEN OYSTER

So here's your penultimate St. Patrick's Day party. Live music, drink specials and just a downright good time. Classic Irish specials will be on hand for you to consume, which means that Irish whiskey will be flowing.

Call them to make reservations at 806-418-6668. They're going to have a two hour limit on tables as they want as many people as possible to have a good time. However, you CAN keep it longer than the two hours, you just have to drop $50 on em to stay longer at it.

ST. PATRICK'S BINGO IN MEMPHIS

Memphis got hit hard by the fires we had not long ago, and this is a good way to help the town rebuild. The Memphis Chamber Banquet is happening the day AFTER St. Patrick's Day, and they're going to be playing a little bingo.

It'll run you $5 at the door to get in, then $5 per bingo card for the first 10 games. If you want to get in on the last game, which usually has the biggest payout, it'll run you $10 per card. There will be a 50/50 split winner and prizes for all ages!

THE 75th ST. PATRICK'S DAY CELEBRATION IN SHAMROCK

This is the big one. Everyone I've met here says this three day event is THE one to go to. It's a raucous good time, and there's a good chance you don't remember any of it when it's all said and done.

There's always plenty of dancing to be had over the three days, plenty of Irish cocktails and beverages and the infamous beard contest. I have no business being in the beard contest, but I'm sure it's a good time to watch. You can get all the info you need here.
