There are many different unsolved mysteries in Amarillo if you will. No, I'm not talking about crime or anything like that, but things we all see and wonder, what are they doing?

Many times these things happen at night, and we think people are simply up to no good. We don't give the benefit of the doubt and just assume whoever it is was waiting until dark to do something they shouldn't do in broad daylight.

The Flashlight Group On Tascosa Rd

People have been starting to mention how they're seeing people out at night with flashlights on Tascosa Rd. and have wondered what exactly they are doing.

Our brains immediately shift to something like, "They're up to no good", "they're casing a place to break into later", or random thoughts like that. So what are they actually doing out there?

Grasshopper Collection Building

After a little digging, it turns out it's a group of people that are collecting the grasshoppers that come out at night. Grasshoppers seem to love when the sun goes down and the temps begin to cool.

You hear them as you sit in your backyard, chirping away in a certain cadence, almost to let each other know where they are...or just potentially having a party in the grass.

What Are They Doing With The Grasshoppers

No, it's not that they are just building a little grasshopper collection.

The group gathers all the grasshoppers up and sells them to those who are in need of them as food for their pets. I remember buying bags of crickets for my sons frog, so this makes perfect sense. Love the hustle, love the grind.
