Florida Becomes The First State To Pass A Drug Testing Program For Welfare
Of course people are getting mad about this. Saying it's "unfair" and "unconstitutional" but in my eyes, it's as fair as it gets! I mean, you and I have to pass a drug screening to get a job right? Why should people on welfare just be handed free money? Why shouldn't they be put through the same process as us? In my opinion they should also have to pass a back ground check!
It's the right thing for taxpayers," Scott said after signing the measure. "It's the right thing for citizens of this state that need public assistance. We don't want to waste tax dollars. And also, we want to give people an incentive to not use drugs."
I gotta say I like it! The only people that don't like this new program are people that collect welfare and CAN'T pass a drug screen. OMG I feel sooooo sorry for them...pause...NOT! Hey, you want the help, pass the test! I am hoping that they push this bill in Texas very soon! I'll be voting yes when they do!
What do you think? Is this unfair? Should citizens have to pass a drug test to get welfare?
