It isn't everyday that we get the opportunity to hear the President speak, much less see them in person.  Well you might just get that chance.  Former President Clinton will be in Canyon this Tuesday,  April 24th!

West Texas A & M University periodically host the 'Distinguished Lecture Series,' which is made up of speakers who have universal appeal and whose presence will enhance the intellectual and creative atmosphere of the university.  The program was created to help enhance the educational experience of the WT students.

Many people have been a part of the series, including Pulitzer Prize winner and Poet Maya Angelou and political strategist Karl Rove And WT just announced that former President Clinton will be speaking as part of the series.

On April 24th, the First United Bank Center in Canyon will be packed with people wanting to see and hear from President Clinton.  He will be speaking about the Clinton Global Initiative and the Clinton Foundation.  His foundations help raise money for Third-World nations and them as much help as possible. He will also talk a little about his role in raising money for the 9/11 memorial in Pennsylvania.

Which is how WT lured him into speaking.  Clinton agreed to come because the university decided to make a $100,000 donation toward the Flight 93 National Memorial near Shanksville, Pennsylvania.

Regardless the reason, WT is excited to have the former President in Canyon.  The lecture is open to the public and seating is based on first come first serve.  No tickets will be required.  The lecture will be held at the First United Bank Center in Canyon at 8:00 pm on April 24th.  Doors will open up at 7:30 pm.  Since it is first come first serve, I'd get there early.

Are you going to attend?
