One thing that I wish we had in Amarillo was more healthy options to eat and shop. Don't get me wrong we have places like FAVs, The Acai Bar, Tropical Smoothie Cafe, Natural Grocers, and Eat Rite Health Food Store. But we don't have places like Whole Foods, Sprouts, Central Market. A store when you walk in smells like vitamins, cardboard, whatever natural soap is on the shelf, and fruit that's on the verge of rotten.

I'm well aware I'm sounding like a complete snob about this first world problem, I just really want a Whole Foods Store in Amarillo.

Fresh juice is good for you

The nice thing about Amarillo is the majority doesn't obsess about the latest trends and fads. We are consistent in keeping what works going.

Juicing has been around since the 1930s, it's a tasty way of getting the vitamins without having to eat a ton of fruit. I do not have any qualifications to speak on the health benefits of drinking pressed juice, I do know that I feel good when I drink a small portion of fresh-pressed juice.

Where to get fresh pressed juiced:

Chill Natural Bar is located at 6200 Hillside Road, suite 100. I'm 1000% sure you've heard of this place but have you tried it? This morning I picked up the Beach Bum juice with pineapple, orange, ginger, and coconut water (pictured above) and it is a perfect start to my morning.

They offer all kinds of fresh-pressed juice, smoothies, Acai bowls, salads, ezekiel toast, and pro-yo. This is a great stop to get a boost to your day. The next time you get a chance stop by and try something new.

They are open:

  • Monday-Friday 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM
  • Saturday 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM
  • Sunday they are CLOSED

Check out their menu below and for the quickest service call ahead: 806-355-7100
