After a lengthy investigation regarding improper euthanasia practices and animal cruelty by employees at Amarillo Animal Control, a Randall Country Grand Jury has found no evidence to support such allegations.  No employees were indicted in connection with this case.

"No specific evidence was found of physical harm to animals at the shelter," Farren said.

Though, he said the grand jury did find technical violations of needles being used more than once on animals, and no scale present at the city facility at the time of the investigation."

The City of Amarillo still plans to rehabilitate practices of the department.  Euthanasia resumed back in May of 2014 at the facility, now under the watch of a licensed veterinarian.
