Greyhound Bus Driver Fights Off Hijacking Attempt in Amarillo
Remember just a few days ago, when I said the Greyhound bus station in Amarillo is one of the more interesting places to be, should you want to people watch? Well, this may not have happened directly at the bus station...but it definitely involved a Greyhound bus in Amarillo.
Something about Greyhound and Amarillo just doesn't seem to get along, and they have a checkered history when it comes to drugs being transported here. This story DOES involve drugs, allegedly, but not in the way most of these other stories have gone.

Greyhound Bus Has Attempted Hijack In Amarillo
On the evening of September 10, 2025, police were called out to the parking lot of the Tractor Supply on Canyon Dr. after someone attempted to hijack the Greyhound bus. A male passenger, 32, tried to take over control, but the driver of the bus was able to fend him off.
However, that wasn't before the bus was driven right off I-27 and nearly took out a large sign that could've been catastrophic. The driver was able to bring the bus to a stop in the Tractor Supply parking lot.

Details From Inside The Bus
After the bus came to a stop, the passenger who attempted the hijacking tried to run, but passengers jumped in and were able to keep him there for the police. When talking to the police, passengers said the man appeared to be under the influence of a narcotic and had been acting erratically.
As police were speaking to them, the suspect became unresponsive, and police had to administer Narcan. They were able to revive the suspect with it and got him to a hospital for treatment. He is currently in custody, and charges are undoubtedly pending.
