Could H-E-B’s Generous Gift Mean It Is Finally Coming To Amarillo
The number of times Amarillo has been teased with potentially getting an H-E-B is almost ridiculous at this point. It's the one place that the city is always screaming for, and conversations will begin out of nowhere.
It could be something as simple as a big plot of land having a "sold" sign on it, or someone seeing an H-E-B truck drive through town. It immediately spurs rumors. The latest thing to happen spurred conversation almost immediately.

H-E-B Enters Amarillo...Sort Of
One thing H-E-B has always prided itself on is helping local communities all over Texas. We've heard about and seen the donations they make to various organizations, and it's one of the things that makes H-E-B so special. They do things you don't see other grocery chains do.
Well, H-E-B did it again...but this time, they surprised everyone with what the donation was for, and where it happened.
Family Support Services of Amarillo Receives Big Gift
Family Support Services of Amarillo has been through quite a bit the past five years, including their building being destroyed by a fire. They continued to push through, though, and help families all across the Texas Panhandle. Well, H-E-B reached out to hear their story, and the ultimate surprise came.
Executives from H-E-B flew into Amarillo and presented Family Support Services of Amarillo with one of the biggest donations they'd ever received, $40,000. Pretty impressive for a company that has ZERO ties to Amarillo.
Does That Mean H-E-B Is Getting Closer To Entering Amarillo
Well, naturally, one would think that if they were doing something like that in a city where they don't have a store, they MUST be getting ready to build one here, considering the goodwill they just showed.
Unfortunately, the status remains the same...they have no plans at this time to build a store in Amarillo. All I know is this gesture makes me want them here even more, so we can show the love back.
