Yesterday morning was a pretty crazy time for us here in the Texas Panhandle.  Roofs were blown off barns, mud was literally blowing through the air and debris was flying everywhere as a massive wind storm just blew through the area.  Stores and restaurants had to shut down due to wind damage, it was just absolutely nuts.  Hey we live in one of the top 10 windiest areas in the nation, probably even the world, so we're used to this kind of wind.  Some places, like Palm Springs, simply aren't used to experiencing these sudden wind storms that come out of nowhere.

Palm Springs witnessed a sudden intense wind storm over the weekend as well.  Blowing down trees and power lines, much similar to the one we saw over the weekend.  A number of residents captured footage of it (seen below) and it was pretty intense!

80-90mph wind tore threw the city and residents say it "seemed to come out of nowhere".

The difference, in Amarillo and the Panhandle of Texas, we're used to it, we kind of live our lives around it.  We don't get as many yard decorations because they'd be blown away in a day or two.  Our poor trees are always missing branches due to wind speeds, but alas, as I said we're used to it, we've adapted to it for a lack of better words.

In watching the video from Palm Springs, you can tell they totally aren't prepared to deal with 90mph wind speeds.  It's pretty crazy the way it goes from mild to insane and debris just fills the air.

Dare I say we have a connection with the folks in Palm Springs?  Do we?  Don't we?
