21 Savage's future in the United States is in limbo after the rapper was arrested by Immigration and Customs Enforcement on Feb. 3 and accused of being an illegal immigrant. The arrest caught everyone off guard and has become a trending topic on social media due to the strangeness and seriousness of the whole situation. Many in the hip-hop community have hopped on social media to weigh in.

Most all tweets from the rapper's counterparts were in support. Vince Staples took issue with the jokes that quickly circulated aimed at 21. "So yall clowning niggas for being immigrants now? You can always tell who don’t know any Mexicans free all my niggas out that jam," he posted on Twitter.

Killer Mike offered heartfelt words for the embattled rapper. "My sincere hope is to see this young man who has made a way for himself allowed to stay and continue to prosper and grow his legacy," he captioned a photo of 21 on Twitter. "Sincere prayers for him and his family and team. @21savage Should be allowed to remain in this country."

Several other rappers joined the #Free21Savage movement.

According to ICE spokesman Bryan Cox, “U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) arrested unlawfully present United Kingdom national Sha Yaa Bin Abraham-Joseph AKA ‘21 Savage’ during a targeted operation with federal and local law enforcement partners early Sunday in metro Atlanta. Mr. Abraham-Joseph was taken into ICE custody as he is unlawfully present in the U.S. and also a convicted felon.”

21's attorney Dina LaPolt is trying to rectify the situation, which she is hoping will end up with a good outcome for the rapper . "We are working diligently to get Mr. Abraham-Joseph out of detention while we work with authorities to clear up any misunderstanding," LaPolt said in a statement. "Mr. Abraham-Joseph is a role model to the young people in the country--especially in Atlanta, Georgia and is actively working in the community leading programs to help underprivileged youths in financial literacy."
