One of the things you can't avoid on the news these days is the fact that ICE agents are all over the country at the moment. Over the past year, there have been multiple reports of ICE agents and raids happening in Amarillo.

Some of those were able to be confirmed, and some were people speculating that ICE agents were in town based on a van or something else they saw. Again, not all of these reports had been confirmed.

More Speculation In Amarillo

Now, before I say anything else, what I saw is based on pure speculation from a user on Reddit from what I can tell. There doesn't seem to be any stories corroborating what they posted, but again, I can't be sure of that.

On the Amarillo Reddit page, someone posted a graphic warning people to stay away from the Wendy's at 5418 River Rd., stating it has a high risk of ICE encounters. It goes on to say that this particular Wendy's location calls ICE on their customers.

Scare Tactic Or Truth?

Combing through the comments, I wasn't able to find one person saying this is something they had witnessed at that location. There were many people who had been through that particular location and stated they had never seen an ICE agent.

From what it appears, this is either just a scare tactic or someone trying to create panic. With the most recent news cycle regarding ICE agents, particularly in Minnesota, trying to instill panic isn't the best idea.

Unless you have physically seen agents somewhere or have confirmation of it, please don't post things stating ICE is in the city. Creating panic for your own pleasure or entertainment isn't a great idea, especially considering how on edge everyone is with it these days.
