These Major Texas Cities Have Really Cheap Off-Season Hotel Rates

Are you thinking about coming to visit Texas during your fall or winter break? Visiting Texas during the off-season is a great way to spend more of your money on fun and less on a hotel room that you probably won't even spend very much time in, especially if you've never experienced the great state of Texas. In fact, a new study by Stacker found that two major Texas cities are among the top 3 in the United States for cheapest hotel rates during the off-season.

The most affordable major city in the US to vacation in during the winter months is Houston, Texas, with an average off-season nightly rate of $68. You can save a ton of money when you take a trip to Houston for Christmas. The second most affordable city to visit during the winter is Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, just a hop skip, and jump away from Texas, with an average of $72 per night for a hotel room. Coming in third, for cheapest hotel rates during the fall, is San Antonio, Texas, with an average nightly rate of $85.
