Amarillo, Texas is blessed with some really nice parks. The city is covered with places to go and get some fresh air while the kids play in the sunshine. Some have great playgrounds, others have awesome features like a pond. We have some parks with both. There is, however, one thing about the parks that is at best inconvenient.

It's True. Restrooms Are Closed At The Parks In Amarillo, Texas.

The worst thing about visiting the park now is the fact that the restrooms are closed. There are reasons for this. I can almost understand where the city is coming from with this decision. However, I'm not convinced it's the best course of action.

What once was an activity that took little to no planning, now has an extra step involved. Empty the bladder before you go.

It Doesn't Matter Which Park You Go To. The Restrooms Are Closed In Amarillo.

I was at one of our fine parks with my kids in Amarillo recently and I watched a kid run to the restroom, realize the trouble he was in, and then make the snap decision to disappear in the bushes. I quickly diverted my kids' attention to the other direction and we went about our day.

We went to a second park, and we saw the same sign posted on the restrooms. Before we got settled in, I made sure no one needed to go potty. I guess it doesn't matter which park you go to. Restrooms are closed for business until spring.

Remember to add a trip to the potty to your park outing, preferably before you get there. It's rough out there for full bladders.
