Lubbock’s Mugshot Monday on a Tuesday: 46 People Arrested the Week of Extreme Weather
Surprise! Mugshot Monday had to be done Tuesday because yesterday I had the worst day and it seems that many people across Lubbock had the worst Monday ever. Do not worry though because today is another day and I will make it a great one. If you were insanely busy like I was then you might have missed some things in the news but we have you covered.
Fun in the Sun is Cancelled, Almost
It has been hot this Summer which means that it can only get hotter and as a native Texan I need to know just how hot it's going to get. The weather predictions all across the Lonestar state have been in the hundreds and since I recently traveled to San Antonio and Dallas I know that Lubbock is cold compared to those cities. How hot is going to get this summer? Well the answer is simple. Extremely hot! If you have any plans make sure to limit outside time during peak daylight hours to avoid any kind of heat sickness. There are a few simple fun things to do this Summer to take advantage of those cool, or at least less hot, hours.
The Aftermath and How to Help
There has been news coverage of the tornado that hit the small rural West Texas town of Matador last week that has been hard to miss. That storm initially had 10 people injured and three deceased but the official numbers to date are 15 injured and four deceased. Many local residents of Lubbock and surrounding areas have helped out and there are many asking how they can get started. The small local Matador fire department has asked the public to just make monetary donations as they have had an abundance of physical items to help the community during this rough time. Happy State Bank locations are taking monetary donations at this time for the Matador Relief Fund and ask anyone who wants to help Matador make a donation in any of their branches.
