This Monday, June 12, 2023,  an APD officer stumbled upon a particular scene that would have confused anybody.

A 44-year-old male, Rocky Joe Saldivar, was caught red-fisted a fight against an unusual opponent...  his own truck! When an APD officer and a deputy approached him to unravel this mystery, Saldivar wandered off into nearby traffic.

Officers attempted to bring Saldivar back into safety, but he wasn't going down without a fight. Saldivar physically resisted the police officer's attempt to bring him back before striking both lawmen. Due to his uncooperative nature, officers resorted to tasing Saldivar before arresting him.

After this confrontation, Saldivar was promptly escorted to the Potter County Detention Center, where he received several charges. The charges are as follows: Assault on a Peace Officer (twice!), Resisting Arrest or Detention, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, and even a cherry on top, a warrant for a Class C Violation because he forgot to slap an Off-Highway Vehicle Decal on his ride.

Thankfully, despite the chaos, no one suffered any serious injuries, and the arresting officers handled the situation safely.

The motivation behind Saldivar's confrontation with his truck remains a mystery. But considering the fact that Possession of Drug Paraphernalia was listed on his charges, it wouldn't take a detective to suspect that drugs may have been involved.

Sadly we did not see the conclusion to this fight between Rocky Saldivar and his pickup truck, and a rematch has yet to be announced. I'm not a betting man, but if I was, I'd put my money on the truck.
