On October 26th, 1998, Amarillo experienced one of its most tragic disappearances that sent shockwaves through the local community when a 9-year-old boy by the name of Thomas Dorien suddenly went missing.

To this day there are still little to no clues regarding his whereabouts, leaving countless questions in the air for both investigators and the family of Thomas Dorien.

What Happened To Dorien Thomas?

A new podcast series titled "The Macabre Club - What Happened to Dorien Thomas?" is delving back into this cold case. This podcast is delving deep into the details and circumstances of Dorien's haunting disappearance, and theories surrounding what happened to him.

The podcast is currently on its third episode and it has already covered a wide array of topics surrounding Dorien's disappearance. Nearby murders, the prison system, and ongoing socio-economic issues are just a few of the topics that have been touched upon in trying to look at the big picture around Dorein's disappearance.

Remembering Dorien Thomas

Although it has been twenty years since the disappearance of Dorien Thomas, the city of Amarillo has not been forgotten. There is still hope for his finding and it is well-known that any information or leads that can be used to help find him will be used in the effort towards solving this case.

Amarillo's dedication to preserving Dorien's memory can also be seen in its recent efforts, such as the renaming of North Heights School to the Dorien Thomas North Heights School or a planned mural that will be painted in his name.
