Texas Teens Can’t Stop Googling These Wild Slang Words in 2025
This article was originally published on September 30, 2025 and nearly a month later.... I STILL don’t know what 6-7 means!!! My son FORBIDS to tell me.
If you’ve been anywhere near an El Paso high school lately, or even a middle school, chances are you’ve heard a crowd of kids yell “6-7!” while throwing up random hand signs. No, it’s not a math problem and surprisingly it isn't anything vulgar either, it’s just brain-rot humor at its peak.
The phrase “6-7,” born from Skrilla’s “Doot Doot (6 7)” and boosted by NBA star LaMelo Ball, has officially topped Google’s slang searches both in Texas and the U.S. with more than 141,000 searches this year.
(I was going to insert the music video here for you to watch but honestly..... the video made me feel like I was in. a nightmare and it will NOT give you any answers as to why kids are saying “6-7” so I wanted to save you the waste of time.)

Texas Teens Are busy making unusual mean words
According to new research from Unscramblerer.com, Texans are also busy looking up the meaning of “Chuzz” (a mashup of “chopped” and “huzz” for an unattractive girl), “Sigma” (the lone wolf energy), and “Sharking” (aka prowling for hookups). Why are kids these days so RUDE?!?!

Thanks, Social Media, For These Weird Trends
A spokesperson for Unscramblerer says TikTok, gaming, and meme culture are super-charging slang turnover: “Fueled by technology, our language adapts faster than ever. Slang is a fun mirror of our culture.” Translation? If you don’t know the latest lingo, you’re already behind. Better start googling.
Across the U.S., the words teens are using is equally chaotic. People are frantically googling “Bop” (someone who “bops” around partners), “Mogging” (outclassing someone’s looks), “Big Back” (teasing someone for hogging food), and “Delulu” (being delusional about your celeb crush).
