Let's wait awhile, indeed: After months of speculation that Janet Jackson and husband Wissam Al Mana are expecting a child, Jackson has officially confirmed she'll soon be a mother.

The 50-year-old Jackson first announced in April she and Al Mana were planning to start a family, but it wasn't until today (October 12) that she verified the parent-wheels are definitely in motion.

"We thank God for our blessing," the "Feedback" singer told People beside a glowing shot that can only come from a mom-to-be who's already in love with her baby.

"She is super excited about her pregnancy and is doing extremely well,” a source added. “She actually feels very good about everything."

Jackson's initial April 6 video-statement came with news that she'd delay her Unbreakable World Tour, and she pled for fans' understanding.

"I thought it was important that you be the first to know,” she said. “My husband and I are planning our family! So I’m gonna have to delay the tour...Please, if you could try and understand that it’s important that I do this now. I have to rest up, doctor’s orders. But I have not forgotten about you. I will continue the tour as soon as I possibly can.”

Entertainment Tonight published a story a month later in May that seemed to confirm Jackson's pregnancy. ET also caught Jackson leaving a pregnancy furniture store on September 27.

Surprised it took so long for Janet to officially share news of her motherhood? Be sure to wish her congratulations.
