Free Hot Breakfasts for Amarillo Kids This Summer
With times being as tough as they've been lately, many in Amarillo have found it harder to put food on the table. Sure, they're still getting the people in their families fed, but they've had to get creative on how to do it.
Some have kicked it down from steaks to Hamburger Helper, while others are just cutting meals out of their day entirely in order to make it by. One of the easier ones to do that with seems to be breakfast. I know that's like the one meal per day I can manage to not eat and be ok.

Sadly, the kids also end up going without breakfast if mom or dad decides to cut it from the food budget. They love breakfast, one of their favorite meals of the day, truthfully. It's when they get those sweet sugary cereals, or pancakes loaded up with syrup.
Well, they can still get a good, hot breakfast if you're one of the ones who had to cut it from the food budget, thanks to The Panhandle People's Pantry.
They understand that many in Amarillo are dealing with food insecurities and just want to make sure that they do something to help the kiddos stay nourished and healthy.
Each weekday from 7 to 9 am at the Black Historical Cultural Center, they serve up items such as piping hot French toast, waffles, eggs, and more to keep the kiddos of Amarillo filled with a full belly.
Any child under the age of 18 is eligible to take part in free breakfast, and the program will run until August 13.
