Looking For A Summer Job In Amarillo? Start Here.
Summer is quickly approaching in the Texas Panhandle, and that means the kids will be out of school looking for something to occupy their time.
Some will spend it hanging out with friends, others will be training for high school sports. However, those things don't tend to take up full days, and when kids want to go out with their friends this summer, they'll need some cash.

That means kiddos will be looking for summer jobs to bring in some fun money to go play with friends. There are plenty of places in Amarillo and the surrounding areas, but there is one that is standing out at the moment.
McDonald's Adding Nearly 400,000 Workers
It's been announced that McDonald's will be hiring 375,000 workers across the United States, and we have several McDonald's locations in Amarillo and Canyon.
With so many jobs being added, it's very likely the locations here will be looking for workers to come in and earn a few extra bucks. The last time I saw, McDonald's was paying pretty well, and not minimum wage.
Why Is McDonald's Adding So Many Jobs
The fast food giant is looking to get to 50,000 restaurants by the end of 2027, and that means they'll need workers. To reach that number, they'll need to add 900 new restaurants over the next two years.
Amarillo is a big enough city to where they could stand to add another McDonald's location or two, so the possibility of seeing a new one pop up relatively quickly isn't out of the question.
How Many Employees Does McDonald's Have
As of right now, the chain employs close to two million people worldwide, which makes them one of the largest employers anywhere.
They are believed to have a relatively high turnover rate due to what the job is, but in helping McDonald's announce they were looking to do mass hirings, Labor Secretary Lori Chavez-DeRemer spoke at the press conference in Ohio saying, "It’s the best first job, right here at McDonald’s."
