A motor cycle vs vehicle accident sent 1 Amarillo man to the hospital with life-threatening injuries.  A man driving a Yamaha R1 rear-ended a Pontiac Grand Prix at Bell & Farmers Ave.

"On October 29, 2013 at approximately 9:13 pm Officers were dispatched to a Motorcycle rear ending a Pontiac at Bell and Farmers Ave. Upon their arrival they discovered a 2000 Pontiac Grand Prix driven by a juvenile was northbound in the 6500 block of S Bell. It was struck from behind by a 2000 Yamaha R1 motorcycle driven by Travis Lee Dowty, WM, 22. Dowty was transported to a local area hospital with life threatening injuries. He was later flown to a Lubbock hospital for treatment. Dowty was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash."

The incident is still under investigation by the Traffic Investigation Squad of the Amarillo Police Dept.
