Nick Gordon Arrested for Battery Domestic Violence in Florida
Nick Gordon, the ex-boyfriend of the late Bobbi Kristina Brown, was arrested for domestic violence in Florida, according to the New York Daily News.
This marks the second time Gordon has been arrested for domestic violence charges in a year. According to online reports, the 29-year-old was arrested by the Seminole County Sheriff's Office on one domestic violence charge of "battery — touch or strike."
Arrest reports obtained from The Blast show that Gordon was arrested on Saturday morning, just after midnight. He'd gotten into an altercation with his girlfriend of one year, Lauren Leal. Gordon told cops Leal is "crazy" and he wanted her to leave his house because she ripped his shirt and threw a bottle at him. They'd reportedly been living together for six months.
Police noted a cut on Gordon's thumb, but observed a “visible injury to include slightly swollen bottom lip with dried blood" on Leal. Leal said that she drove to pick Gordon up from a nearby bar and that he started hitting her while she was driving, striking her in the cheek. She also said he “pulled her hair and stated to her that he should make her wreck the vehicle.”
Although Leal refused to press charges against Gordon or sign any domestic violence paperwork, Gordon was nevertheless arrested for battery domestic violence based on evidence at the scene.
Back in June 2017, Gordon was arrested after police spoke with Leal, who alleged that Gordon punched her inside his home and held her captive on the night of June 9. The charges were dropped after she stopped cooperating with officials.
Gordon dated Bobbi Kristina, daughter of Bobby Brown and Whitney Houston, who he also had a rocky relationship with before she was found unresponsive in a bathtub in the couple’s Atlanta home in 2015. She was put into a medically induced coma and died six months later. Gordon was ordered to pay her estate $36 million in her wrongful death case, but Bobby Brown feels that wasn’t enough.
Earlier this month, the singer said he wants Gordon locked up in an interview with Rolling Stone.
"Because he's still walking around free," Brown told Rolling Stone. "Justice? If he was locked up somewhere where somebody can rape him. That's just how I feel. He raped me by taking my daughter away."
As for his latest case, Gordon was given a bond of $500 and is due back in court on April 6.
