Nick Jonas Confirms ‘American Idol’ Judging Talks
The rumors are true! Nick Jonas confirmed that he’s in negotiations to be the next ‘American Idol‘ judge.
Whispers spread like wildfire that Jonas and rapper-producer Pharrell Williams were in serious talks to join the somewhat struggling ratings juggernaut. The show was left without two out of its three judges when Jennifer Lopez and Steven Tyler chose not to renew their contracts, and remaining judge Randy Jackson’s position may change to a mentoring role.
Following the signing and announcement of Diva With a Capital D Mariah Carey, speculation as to who would fill the remaining two spots ran rampant. Last week, a source revealed, “Nick is pretty close to signing to be the ‘Idol’ judge. They flew him in to L.A. last week for final meetings.”
The youngest JoBro confirmed the talks via Twitter, though no announcement has been made as to whether or not he’s officially signed on. He’s a savvy marketer, though, for sure — he even started his own trending topic:
The rumors are true… I am being considered to be a judge on American Idol, and it would be a dream come true if it happens. #nickonidol

If Nick signs on, it will make every single one of the Jonas Brothers a reality show staple. Joe Jonas will be a mentor on ‘The Next,’ the CW’s singing competition show, while Kevin Jonas and his wife Danielle star in E!’s ‘Married to Jonas.’
‘American Idol’ will premiere in January 2013. Who do you hope to see as a judge? Sound off in the comments!
