Amarillo High School Calls for Urgent Clothing Donations

One thing Amarillo has always been great at is helping out the community when people are in need. We experience it every year as we do Help 4 The Holidays. The amount of people we see over the course of that week is staggering.

Even more humbling is how much stuff some people will bring. We've seen literally truckloads and carloads show up, where it takes 5-6 people and multiple trips to clear it. That kind of help for the community can be rare in many places.

Time To Step Up For The Kids

With the kids back in school, many are sporting new wardrobes and fits for the school year. Back to school shopping is a ritual for many, but there are some who simply can't afford to do it and they're trying to cobble together clothes for their kiddos.

Palo Duro High School has recognized, though, that some of their students are in desperate need of clothing however, and they are on a mission to make sure all their students have the clothes they need to make it through the year.

According to the high school, it's many of their students who need help with clothing and hygiene products. The list of items they're looking for is relatively expansive, yet straightforward..

Items they're looking for include clothing, socks, & women's underwear (a high-demand item). When it comes to the hygiene products, they need any and all products. Shampoo, conditioner, soap, etc., even the little hotel-sized ones will do. Chapstick is also an item on the list.

Other Items & Drop Off Location

As we start to trend into the cooler months, hoodies and jackets are going to be in demand as well. These items need to be very gently used or brand new, according to the coat closet organizers.

You can take any of these items to Palo Duro High School to drop off and help those in need.
