Paul Wesley revealed his Vampire Diaries ending would have been very different.

On Monday (December 2), the actor stopped by Watch What Happens Live and told host Andy Cohen that he had an alternate ending in mind. In fact, if it was up to him, Stefan and Damon Salvatore (Ian Somerhalder) would have both died and Elena Gibert (Nina Dobrev) would have lost all her memories of him.

"I honestly think both brothers should have died," he admitted. "And I feel good about [the ending] although I would have liked that we both died and that Elena — the girl at the end of the show — like, all her memory was wiped and went to live a normal life and forgot that we ever existed. I think that would have been nice."

As fans know — and SPOILER ALERT if you don't — the series ended with Stefan sacrificing himself to save his brother so that he can live a human life with Elena. "I was very happy that he died," Wesley added. "And I actually had requested that he died. I felt — yeah, because he did a lot of bad things and I felt like he deserved death."

However, according to Wesley, Stefan and Damon's brotherly romance was the best OTP of the show. "Well you know, Ian always says that the greatest romance on the show are the brothers," he said. "And I actually agree with that in many ways. You know, just because it was not a sexual romance, it was still a romance."

As for whether there's any chance of him reviving his character for the spinoff series Legacies, the 37-year-old shut down all our hopes and dreams. "Oh, no," he said, laughing, before reminding everyone his character is very much dead.
