Review: Smoothie King On Georgia St Lives Up To It’s Name

I drive by it nearly every single day when I go to the grocery store. Yes, I go to the grocery store nearly every day because with a family of five, there's typically always something we're out of or need.

Anyways, back to my point. I had seen it going up a coupe of months back and was kind of excited because truthfully, it kind of brought back a piece of my childhood. I used to stop at Jamba Juice all the time in my high school days. It was the "cool" thing to do.

I noticed a few weeks ago that the "open" sign was lit up and thought to myself, I should go in and try it. However, I got sidetracked almost every time I went to the store and forgot about it.

Well yesterday, I made my daily run to the grocery store and had my boys with me. I saw it again when I drove past and said, I'm not forgetting today. I'm going to Smoothie King.

We got our stuff at the store and off we went. When we walked inside, it was quiet. No customers, just the two workers. Music was playing at a perfect level, the place was super clean and chic. I mean, just look at the seating areas.

The menu is well lit, and expansive. My goodness was there a lot to choose from. I don't remember the menu at Jamba Juice looking anything like this. I feel like there was about 8-10 things you could order and that was it.

After some looking, the boys and I decide on what we want. I go with the Pineapple Surf. I'm pretty much a sucker for anything with pineapple in it, so it was an easy decision for me when I saw that on the menu.

As we're waiting on the smoothies to be made, the boys paid very close attention to the blenders and how they were doing it. I found myself just looking over the different fruits and things they put in there.

All the fruits were one one side of the counter, and easy to see. Personally, I like when I can see what's going in anything I'm about to consume. I was comfortable with what I saw. I think I was expecting it to be fresh cut fruit, but I'm not the Smoothie King, they are.

A few more of the different add-on's they have that aren't fruit, but I noticed a lot of super food type of items on this side of the counter. It's also got your whey protein and other things they mix in there.

They wrapped up the blending of our drinks and brought them over to the side counter and we were on our way. The boys couldn't wait to taste theirs, so they were sipping before even walking out the door. I didn't hear a word out of them for the drive home, so I'm assuming that was a big two thumbs up from them.

Mine was solid as well. I would've liked to taste a bit more of the pineapple, but that's just me. Everyone's taste buds are different. All in all, Smoothie King lives up to its name, and I'll definitely be back. Even if for the message they have emblazoned on the wall to keep your mind right.
