Shooting At The Colonies Apartments In Amarillo
A man was shot at The Colonies Apartments located on Hillside just off Coulter in Amarillo. Officers were dispatched around 4:45am this morning on an aggravated assault call, that quickly turned into a shooting call. The man received a gunshot wound to his abdomen, and was transported to a local hospital for treatment. The extent of his injury is not known at this time.
The shooter was a resident at the apartment, who claims that he threw a party, and the male subject that received the gunshot wound was at the party, but had been asked to leave for reasons unknown. The resident claims the male came back and forced his way into the apartment and tried to start a fight with him, to which he replied by firing a pistol, striking the male in the abdomen.
"Detectives are still actively speaking to witnesses and those involved at this time. The subject that was shot is still being treated."
