A woman suffered what is believed to be non life-threatening injuries in a shooting that took place Monday night, 4/7/14, at approximately 7:40pm.  Officers were dispatched to 503 S Florida in Amarillo, where they found a woman that had been shot, lying in the driveway of the home.  She suffered a gunshot wound in her arm and abdomen.  Initial reports state that she was driving a vehicle after being involved in a domestic dispute, and was shot by a suspect standing outside of the vehicle.  She then ran to the home at 503 S Florida.

The Yukon she was driving was left in "drive", and continued traveling, unoccupied, until it stopped when it struck a fence at 500 S Florida.

The suspect in the shooting left the scene heading eastbound in a dark colored SUV.  The victim was transported to the hospital by ambulance, and investigators have established that her injury is not life threatening. There have been no arrests in this incident.

"On 4-7-14, at 7:42 PM, officers were sent to 503 S. Florida on a report that someone had been shot. Officers found a BF age 33 in the driveway of the home. She had what appeared to be gunshot wounds in her arm and abdomen. Initial indications were that she had been involved in a domestic dispute with a BM when he shot her. Investigators believe that the woman was in the driver's seat of the gray GMC Yukon when she was shot by a suspect standing outside the vehicle.  The woman got out of the vehicle and ran to 503 S. Florida.  The Yukon, which was left in "drive" and facing westbound, was unoccupied when it rolled across Florida Street and struck the fence at 500 S. Florida.  The suspect possibly left the scene eastbound in a dark colored SUV."
