Snak Pak 4 Kids Starts Up A Community Garden [VIDEO]

Snak Pak 4 Kids is such an amazing program that helps feed kids who need the help.  Well, now they are doing something the entire community can benefit from.

When I first heard of Snak Pak 4 Kids, I was so excited that a program like this even existed.  If you haven't heard of it, it is a program that helps feed kids on the weekends.  A lot of kids depend on school meals to eat a majority of the time.  So on the weekends or spring break, they often go hungry.

Snak Pak 4 Kids wants to put an end to that!  They send home bag or 'snak paks' home at the end of the week.  It is filled with food that the kids can eat on the weekends.  It is such a great organization and 100% of all the money donated goes straight to feeding kids.

Well, now they are doing even more.  Snak Pak 4 Kids is now starting something called Garden 4 Kids.  They are allowing members of the community, including the kids, to come and volunteer.  They can help plant, weed, water and tend to the garden.  Then once the produce is ready, the volunteers are able to take some from home for their families free of charge.  The rest will be sold to community members at a very discounted rate.

It will be a good learning experience for the kids and give them a nutritious snack at the same time.  This is the first year doing the garden and the first harvest will be in about 30-45 days.
