Snoop Dogg Changes Name To Snoop Lion

Snoop Dogg is a rap/hip-hop icon and his latest announcement might shock you!  You'll now be rolling down the street, sipping on Red Stripe, yeah mon'. Welcome to the era of Snoop Lion, the newest reggae artist!

Snoop Dogg says he was "reborn" on a recent trip to Jamaica, and the word "trip" might have multiple meanings here, because he's now dropping the Dogg and changing it to Lion.

The rapper says he is tired of the rap/hip-hop scene and wants to become a reggae artist and change his stage name to Snoop Lion for the release of his first reggae album, Reincarnated.

The album will be followed by a documentary, which will have the same title, Reincarnated.
