Amarillo Starbucks Makes Subtle Change to Free Drinks & Pup Cups

We've got a lot of different options when it comes to getting coffee in Amarillo. Sometimes I feel like we have more coffee shops than convenience stores, which I'm pretty sure is the only thing that outnumbers the number of coffee shops in the city.

Because of the number of options, though, you can definitely have a favorite, and sometimes, it's those little perks they give you that make it your favorite. Maybe it's the rewards program they have, or maybe it's just the best-tasting coffee.

Starbucks Altering A Perk

One thing that Starbucks offers is free "pup cups". You know, those little espresso shot cups filled with a little whipped cream for your furry friend...or in my case, my 4-year-old. You could walk into Starbucks, order up one of those and an ice water, and walk out owing nothing.

Well, they aren't getting rid of those things, but they are altering how you can get them. No longer will you be able to walk in, order those things, and walk out paying nothing. In order to get either of those items, you must now make a purchase. It doesn't matter what it is, but you have to spend money at Starbucks now to get those items.

Are Those Items Still Free

So here's the good news. The two items are still free to you; they'll cost you nothing. You just have to make a purchase to be able to get those things for free. I know, some will say, "Well, it's not free then", but in reality, it is.
